Do YOU Care?

A very thoughtful friend has sent me a slide show created by Dr. Chong K N Chin that will help us to know more about Influenza A (H1N1) or "Swine Flu". However, I am unable to transfer the slides to my post because I honestly don't know how. It took me more than an hour to figure it out... *blur*

I know some of us are just too lazy if we are to read loads of factual and opt for images for clearer explanations, but since my attempt to publish the slides about this pandemic is not working, let me just copy some of the pictures and IMPORTANT facts down. DO view and read them for pre-cautionary action and spread the awareness amongst us, okay?!

Shocking! Past and Present...

Yesterday while I was busy dropping ECs and FB-ing, my eldest sis called me. "You know ..." *non-stop* Taken aback, shocking news after MJ, but this one was someone we really knew. Sis told me that my bro-in-law called her to inform that ** has committed suicide!! Eventho' I was not close to this guy, but I've known him since 1998!! It was believed that he did it in his car yesterday morning and in front of the church!!! He used to go to this church and was actually active in choir when he was a kid. I am still not sure about the whole story, but I suddenly remember what he told one of my friends, R...

When a friend, W, was getting married in last April, R was one of the bride's maids. This guy was visiting her workplace and he outspokenly told R that the man W was going to tie the knot with has a child from his past relationship or marriage (???)... When R looked surprised, he changed the topic or intentionally did that. We still didn't know his motive because we never informed W about this. Do you guys think it's wrong that we just kept the secret to ourselves? Or is there even a 'secret'??

We have a discussion amongst us, friends, W probably already knew about her hubby's background and she might thought that it's not appropriate and perhaps too personal to share with others... We just made our own speculation, but we're still afraid sooner or later it's going to break her heart and now, the 'one' person that had brought this matter up was already taking his own life!!! Or maybe there was an accident???

When we thought that everything is fine and normal, we never expected that there is something that is always bound to surprise us in a blink!

A Craving Laksa Monster

Last few weeks I was craving for Curry Laksa! It was almost 7.30 p.m. when I said this to hubby. He's okay if we went out for dinner, but it took us more than an hour just to get ready and my stomach was already growling!!!

Hubby drove us to Palm Square, but too bad, when we arrived, the food court was already closing!!! Uwahhh!!! Luckily, there's Secret Recipe nearby where they do have Curry Laksa, but it’s a bit pricey and not as tasty as the one I used to have. I also prefer meehoon, but they only serve it with egg noodles... However, since I wanted it real bad, we just went for it. ;)

RM16.50/-

Hubby ate Thai Style Fried Rice, which was not bad! ;)

Half satisfied with our meals, we stopped by at some place for some light music. I went through the beverages section in the menu under Refreshing Drinks, and just when I decided to have the Peach Mambo, a mixture of peach, mango and vanilla, hubby ordered it for me. He could read my mind. :) Anyway, it wasn't a good choice as it's too creamy and NOT refreshing at all!! So, I didn't quite like it!!!

Then, on hubby's last birthday, we went out for dinner again. Nothing expensive or grand about the celebration, but WOOHOO I got my favourite laksa! Haha! Compared to the first pix, this one really stimulates my appetite by just looking at the pix! *droolz*tapun* LOL!!!

RM6.50/- only...

What do you think?! Geez, I must be known as a Laksa Monster right now hahahaaa...

Website Directories

When you are planning to set up a new website amid countless numbers of existing websites on the internet, it forces you to find effective ways to be noticeable. The very basic thing to do is by submitting the website’s URL to the search engines, and allowing your site to be found frequently by optimizing the contents of your website. However, there is another helpful way in catching the attention of other internet users to notice your website that is by submitting your website to the website directories.

A website directory is where all the lists of websites, which are broken down into several categories for internet users to browse and search with provided links to the websites. It is not the same as search engine because it does not search any random websites on the internet in fact it only consists of links to the websites that have been registered. The advantage of listing your website to the website directories is that you can purchase a premium placement where your website is guaranteed to be featured in a certain category.

However, the disadvantage is that sometimes because of the geographical factor. Some directories only cover certain regions, and one thing that your website must be approved before it can get listed. Also, being listed or featured in a prominent place in a particular category will not bring any high search results. Nonetheless despite the weaknesses, it can really help to increase the traffic to your website. Usually, these website directories require you to put up their links on your website. So, swapping links will indirectly contribute to your web traffic.

I Love Nescafe 3-in-1

Attention: Coffee lovers especially those who drink Nescafé 3-in-1 like me hehehe... The message below is emailed to me by a friend who is working with Nestlé. So, for those who are still vague about Nescafé and being spreading rumours about it, please sit back, read and have a mug of Nescafé hehehehe...

Please be assured that all Nestlé products which includes NESCAFE® instant coffee, NESCAFE® 3-in-1 coffee mixes and COFFEE-MATE® coffee creamer are safe for consumption. As a responsible manufacturer, Nestlé ensures its products are of high quality and strictly fulfills the requirements of the Malaysian Food Regulations.

Some concerns about the consumption of coffee are likely due to the presence of caffeine. Current scientific review concluded that moderate consumption of coffee, up to 300-400 mg of caffeine per day (around 3-4 cups) in healthy adults, is safe and does not cause any negative health effects

Research on coffee consumption over a period of time shows that moderate intake of coffee is not associated with the development of coronary heart problems.

However, certain people are sensitive to caffeine and may experience conditions like sleep disturbance or headache. These concerns are not known to have long-term effects.

There is no scientific evidence that coffee has a negative impact to kidney health. In fact, drinking coffee similar to other beverages also increase the water consumed.

On the other hand, recent scientific review showed some evidence of health benefits of consuming coffee in moderate amounts. When consumed moderately, caffeine increases alertness. Coffee has also been found to be a major dietary source of antioxidants. Antioxidants can protect the body from damage by free radicals. For more details, you can check-out the website
www.positivelycoffee.org of the International Coffee Association and www.cosic.org of the Coffee Science Information Center.

NESCAFE® 3-in-1 coffee mixes uses COFFEE-MATE® creamer which is mainly made from glucose syrup, palm kernel oil and milk protein (sodium caseinate). The COFFEE-MATE product complies with the Malaysia Food Regulation. Under the Malaysia Food Act, it is illegal to prepare and sell food that is unfit for human consumption or food containing substances injurious to health.

Lastly, for an overall well-being, it is important to have a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Kindly forward this message to your family and friends who would benefit from this information.

Google Page Rank

I am sure most of the websites or blog owners will want to know more about Google Page Rank. To the extent, Google is obviously the most popular search engines on the internet. I have read that in order for you to gain high index of visibilities and importance in Google search, there are three main things on how Google measures these overall requirements:-

1. Number of back links
2. Number of pages indexed
3. Google Page Rank

On the whole, if your site has more good back links, it is better because it shows that more sites are linking back to you and this will be counted by Google for it to determine on the importance of your site. You can try to check your back links by searching link:mydomain.com. Thus, how many times your site is linked will help Google to sort out how important your site is, which will then indicate your Google Page Rank. If this figure keeps growing, more visitors to your site and link back to you, the more visible your site in Google search engine will be.

Google Page Rank as most of you are already familiar with is being numbered from 1 to 10 and just like the back links, the higher your Page Rank (PR) is the greater your site is on the internet. However, it is harder to achieve it unless your site is really, really good. For example, if you need to get PR 6, there must be at least three sites with PR 7 link back to you! If someone has PR 10 may link to your site, your PR will boom in an instant.
